PRESS RELEASE: DENVER–(BUSINESS WIRE)–Chipotle Mexican Grill (NYSE: CMG) (NYSE: CMG.B) Founder, Chairman and Co-CEO Steve Ells testified today before the House Rules Committee in support of H.R. 1549, the “Preservation of Antibiotics for Medical Treatment Act (PAMTA) of 2009.” In his testimony, Ells discussed Chipotle’s commitment to serving food from more sustainable sources, including meat from animals that are not given antibiotics.

With 80 percent of Morton’s revenue dependent on expense-account meals, it’s no surprise that management expects comparable sales to plummet 22 percent in the second quarter of 2009 (they fell 24 percent in the first quarter). Still, the 78-unit, Chicago-based restaurant chain isn’t about to bow to current dining fads just to boost business, insists President Edie Ames.
